I was wondering if there are any Athens folks here. I recently had to move for a job but I'm always coming back and I'm missing living there. Hopefully Georgia (football team) will have a decent season but we'll have to see how that goes. Any Athens natives around? I was born and raised there and was curious if others might be as well.
Most definitely. My favorite is The Last Resort Grill. But there are so many to choose from. I also like Mama's Boy, Transmetropolitan, Keba (formerly Akim K-Bob) and White Tiger. Good stuff.
I actually split my time between Athens and Savannah. We have a house just past the 10 Loop off the Oconee Connector (officially Watkinsville but with an Athens address).
My folks moved to Bishop right next to Watkinsville back in 2001 and since Bishop is just right next to there I frequently go that way. I know they are making a new on/off ramp off the loop for the rich folks in Jennings Mill.
I'm trying to figure out where to go eat this weekend in Athens. I'm thinking the Grit.
Hey man, I didn't grow up here but I have lots of friends who did....most would be class of '92-'94 Clarke Central I believe....I moved here in '94, work at Heyward Allen Toyota.
Last Resort is about the only place we go when we get a babysitter, or for family brunch!
Really miss Athens, graduated from UGA a few years ago. Atlanta hurts my wallet too much and the traffic is ridiculous. Hoping to get a job back in Athens soon.
