yea, tellico was an awesome place. Unforunately if you live in metro Atlanta there isn't anywhere to good to wheel that isn't 2-3 hours away.
On a related note, River Rock in Milledgeville has shut down, it was my favorite place. Steve (the owner) said he's just not going to pay the insurance rates anymore. He also has a cabin on it overlooking the river. He and his wife are going to move in to it full time.
I can understand the economics of him not wanting to pay the insurance but I would have tought that with a couple events he could have been able to swing the insurance. Sounds like opening a 4 wheel drive trail may be a good oportunity to make few bucks and provide a place to wheel. Anyone have a couple of hundred acres they sitting around ? :-) Hey I hear that they are shutting down Ft. Gilliam in Atlanta, seeing as that belongs to the tax payer perhaps we can lease it for a dollar a year. LOL
it's not just the insurance costs, he's tired of the idiots as well. You know, the guys most people not assoiciated with off-roading think all off-roaders are.
Tellico was my favorite, even got to do Slick Rock on like the 30th of December right before it closed. I can see RR closing. It was suppose to be a hunting land/living place and just turned into a 4x4 park.
