I think Nessie is pulled from the pond at JBZ and now sitting in the snow. I saw it listed on Ebay a few months ago but did not sell for the top bid of $2000.00.
I was told it cost about $7000.00 to build but the crane used to install and remove it from the Grand River was $10,000.00 per day!
Personally I thought the original intent of Artprize was to jump start the individual artists while boosting the local economy, but when I see creations that are made in industrial wharehouses with the aid of hightech tools and crew, it becomes apparent that the individual artist is getting lost.
