You got it......that Hotel was a "Holiday Inn" when I was "Elk Hunting" and we spent a week there....they had tickets for free meals at the casinos every night, so we ate kinda' "high on the hog".........great place to visit and there is still a working gold mine close by at "Victor".....we also went up to the top of "Pike's Peak" while we were there........quite a view and we rode the "Cog Railroad" down from there.......took great photos from the car on the way...I was always clicking pics. and the guys gave me a "nickname"...."KODAK".....

Here's a couple of new ones.
The first is difficult if you have not been there yourself.
The second is a little easier but may help solve the first

It's a cupola, but I still haven't figured out what dome it's on yet.
Any guesses about the one I posted before yours?

I took the "cupola" photo on Thanksgiving Day, if that will give you a starting point.....this is one of only a very few........and the color is "real gold leafs".....was painted over with a sickly green during WWII....I'll show the whole bldg. after you come up with it........

Your pic is the current state capitol dome of West Virginia, in Charleston, right?

Here's a clue to help figure out the ones I posted.

The hill that you can barely see along the right edge of the second picture is the result of a series of plutonic intrusions followed by erosion of the softer surrounding sedimentary rocks.

That and the rapids and the bridge should give it away. Here's a wider perspective.

you can cursor over them to pick one you may want to view larger

The Building
The exterior of the classical-styled building is buff Indiana limestone. More than 700 train carloads of limestone and 4,640 tons of steel were used in its construction. The magnificent 293- foot gold dome which tops the structure is five feet higher than the dome of the U.S. Capitol. The entire dome is gilded in 23 ? karat gold leaf applied to the copper and lead roof in tiny 3 3/8 inch squares.
