Are there cheap hostels in Hawaii?

As the title states...any place where its not an arm and a leg per night? Really would like to visit. Maybe one day I trade my apartment or house for a few nights over there. Oh and I would trade it for Mardi Gras....haha. I am over it...

Are you former or current military, by chance? There's tons of cheap places for military guys on Oahu - beach front cabins for $30-$40 bucks a night!

Yeah, on Oahu there's Bellows on the southern side of the island. That's where the beach-side cabins I was talking about are. Two bedroom with 4 total beds, furnished, tv, cable, kitchen, bathroom, etc for $50 a night I think. You've got to reserve them, though - they're in high demand. Not the biggest cabins, but for $50 and you can see the beach/ocean, you can't complain!

Military way is the way to go. There are a number of cabin and hotel options.

If non-military, we stayed in a condo at Turtle Bay on the north end last year for $99/night. It was one-bedroom with a fold out couch. Had a nice pool in the compound and right on the golf course, plus snuck into the pool at the hotel. Beautiful place.
