Two floors under water..... You know what town she lives at?

Here on Oahu, we had dodged another bullit two years in a row! Chile earthquake/tsunami of February of 2010, and now Japan earthquake/tsunami warning of 2011. THIS year (2011), the only damage to Oahu are boats and piers near the airport, and the most damage was to the Big Island of Hawaii, where some hotels, shops and stores within the hotel was flooded by the tidal surges, and ONE home was swepted into the ocean. Also some irriplacable Hawaiian artifacts were damaged by the waves.

Waikiki Beach only had "ankle slappers" that didn't even come up the halfway point of our beach shoreline. We were lucky. NOTHING like Japan, which I pray that all reading this will support the Red Cross to help Japan recover.

Yeah I hadn't heard of any damage that bad - where does your friend live at?

Damages on Oahu weren't bad at all - it was much more hyped up, but better safe than sorry!

Like 808 says, we're thankful that we're safe, and Hawaiians hearts go out to Japan and its troubles
