Mosquito Repellent

How do you get rid of those little buggers? I had a candle I used at my last place, but now it seems the laugh at my candle and bite me anyways.

Do I just need more candles?

The only sure way is a repellant containing Deet. There's a product called "Skin so soft" sold by Avon that isn't as dangerous as Deet but you smell funny.

There's also a B vitamin (B1 or B3 I think) that smells like cod liver oil. Take lots of it (water soluble so it's harmless) and mosquitos ain't fond of cod liver oil. You may however meet some new cats.

At home, I use a gazebo with netting.
If I have to work in the garden (i.e. leave the gazebo), it's Deep Woods Off.

We always tried to hit the lakes North of Kingston after black fly season. I can deal with skeeters but one vacation during a black fly convention was my last.

We used diluted Skin So Soft on our dog's ears, and all over our horses. That stuff really works great!

I am, it only works if you're right next to it though.

I'm going to buy a few different kinds and see what works best.

I just realize I have no real control.

I bought Wiki Torches with a special Mosquito repelling cedar oil, I still get bit, but I don't know if it's as much as I used to. The only solution is to go out with nothing and see what happens.

The sacrifices I make...
