Water Softener Suggestions

The previous owners of my house installed a pretty expensive water softener and the maintenance alone has been costing around $300 a year.

I pretty sure its finally died on me and I need to replace it finally.

Anyone have know of or have a business that offers quality softeners that are better priced that what Home Depot and Lowes are offering?

Posted this in the Tampa area cause I was hoping to find somebody local...not really going to be helpful if I find a good deal on a softener more than 50 miles of where I'm at.
