Effingham-Central Illinois-CrossRoads

People call Effingham "southern" but what about Marion ? That isn't even southern and it is an even an hour south of here.

well ppl call mt Vernon "central" and Effingham is north of here soo *shrug*

All this terminology is rather like the expression "Midwest." People all the way from the Eastern foothills of the Appalachians to the Front Range of the Rockies will claim this term......so it has little meaning. About like "middle class"; if people like it, they just appropriate it, so there you go.
