Yes, you must check out Southern Indiana! esp. French Lick area and Resorts. It's where Hollywood used to hang out years ago. It has been revitalized. Casino, fun and relaxation in the rolling hills of Southern Ind.

My parents live 1 block from hwy 66, they have built biking and jogging trail next to river. Really nice!

Three Floyds brewery is in Munster. Probably the best small brewery in the USA. They have a small restaurant that has some great food.

Go to 3 Floyd's in Munster, Indiana. That would be reason enough for me.

What season and how are you traveling?

Fall is the best time by far in Indiana and if you're driving hit southern Indiana. Especially Bloomington, and Brown County. Bloomington has the best food in the state in terms of variety and quality. Brown county has Nashville and brown county state park. there are four breweries in the area. Bloomington has a ton to offer. It's way better than going to Indy. All big cities are the same.

Chesterton

You should check out the Indiana Dunes and Mount Baldy near Chesterton. Northwest Indiana has a really unique setup in that Lake Michigan is right here, but there is a lot of big power plants and steel industry, so it's a mixture of forest, beach and industry.
