Mangoes = Green Peppers

Is anyone else familiar with using the term Mango for Green Pepper? I heard someone talking about Stuffed Mangos for xmas dinner, and they were describing stuffed green peppers. They were from muncie. Anyone else know about that?

You bet I do. That is a bit of a joke in my house. I have one for you. Did you grow up saying things like don't be nibby? That is one oft heard in central Indiana.

mango

I'm from Ohio and have heard green peppers called mangoes for years. I never had a real fruit mango until the 1990s.
