Auto Salvage Yard in IE

I'm looking for some parts for my Jeep and was wondering which salvage yards are worth going to and avoiding in the IE. I'll be traveling from Palm Springs to Victorville and wanted to see who has had good luck and good prices. Also I'm not afraid to get dirty (within reason).

Thanks!

Here is about the only local place for jeep parts.

Scotty's Jeep-Truck & 4X4
Not Rated | Write a Review
14349 Whittram Ave, Fontana, CA 92335
Official Jeep Site - 4x4 SUV, Sport Utility Vehicle...

(909) 829-2913 Additional Contacts
(909) 829-7667 Fax

Remember, with this place, bring a thick billfold and patience. They will not let you near the jeeps, and all parts will have to be removed by them, because as they say, "you people will break $500 worth or parts just to find the $2 part you want to buy!"

I may try here. I was hoping for one that had a few more options and a bit less money. A local yard has the part I need, but they want 100.00 for something that is 20-50 at the pick and pull type places. However if I can't find it elsewhere then I'll check with Scotty's.

Thanks for the recommend.

You can also go to your nearest junk yard and ask them to put a shout out on the computer for what specific part you need. If any listening yard has it, they will let you know, and you can decide if it is worth driving to that location.

I found out the best way to find parts at a junkyard is to fill out an online form at a parts finder where they send the info to local yards and the people call you back if they have your parts. My dad just did this because he needed a new rim for his BMW 1150RT. They are like $800 new, and he found one for $250. He would have never found it otherwise.

Good salvage yards are hard to find, but I can't disagree with their reason for not letting people in to take stuff off themselves. Too many people just don't have any regard for other people's stuff...

I've seen a lot of that. Good interior pieces trashed to get at the 5.00 switch in the door or dash.

unfortunately Scotty's buys up most wrecked jeeps and pretty much has the corner on used jeep parts in the IE
