Lol. I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but Fareway is like this too and I miss it too. Moved from Iowa about a year ago.

My wife and I love Fareway. The meat dept takes me back to when I was a kid and my mom would take me to the corner butcher. Great personable service.

I know someone mentioned the Mines of Spain just south of Dubuque, but Dubuque itself is probably one of the more scenic cities and has a lot of historical sites. You can also drive north or south along the Mississippi are absolutely beautiful drives.

I see RAGBRAI mentioned a couple times which is a fantastic way to see the state. I just wanted to add that Iowa also has an awesome network of bike trails. Check out Iowa Bike Trails

I agree. One of my favorite things about Cedar Falls, great trail system.

I gotta go with Hy Vee, they gave my sons jobs. Most of them have a fresh meat section that rivals Fareway.
