Hailstone from last night's storm a new state record

Found about a mile down the road from me. 7.75 in diameter, 15.5 in circumference, 1.1 lbs. That's one big stone. The second picture is one picked up in my yard. Surprisingly I haven't seen much damage, but I haven't been up to check out the roof yet either.

Sweet! That's definitely one thing that I don't miss about living in Kansas...

I think that would make someone feel a little below average if it hit them in the head.
I need to call my old man and see if they had any damage.

That's absolutely amazing.
THIS, this is the reason why I would visit Kansas. Extreme weather interests me very much and someday I plan on taking a trip to the mid-west to experience storms such as the one that produced this monster. My ultimate goal would be to see a tornado.

Knock on wood, but surprisingly up here in topeka we only got hail once this year and it was pea size.
