I would have to say that Jordy Nelson from Riley is pretty well known in Kansas now (wide receiver for the Packers)

I've heard Joe Walsh was born in Wichita.

He wasn't born in KS but Paul Rudd graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park. I met him a few years ago, he was very friendly to the drama students and signed the wall backstage in the main auditorium.
