I hear lots of people move to Wichita to get away from the "opera"
They usually go down there to work the straw; making themselves sweat from every pore.
I've been living here since 2004. In a nutshell, life here is slow but that's not necessarily a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Cost of living is good compared to most cities of similar size. Real estate prices are okay, down right cheap compared to larger metro areas. Traffic is much better than most cities. Crime exists, but it's generally not a huge problem. For the most part it's a nice place to live.

Are there any specific things you'd like to know?
That pretty much covers it. I just need a steady-paced lifestyle, the glitz and glamor isn't that necessary. How is the ISD in the area?

Not sure what you mean by ISD.
Independent School District maybe? If so, I have no current first hand knowledge of how they are now, but I would guess that private schools > public suburban schools > public city schools.
Parents moved there about 5 years ago from Omaha and they think the people are friendlier than here.
The real estate market is better down there form what I remember.
