buffalo tools sportsman generator arrived today.

the first thing i did was fill it with oil when i took it out of the box. it was supposed to not have any oil in it, but it had about 9 ozs in it. it holds about 14 ozs of oil in the crank case. i like to run them for awhile when i first get them in. i have a 400 watt light i hook up to them for testing. it is supposed to run 9 hours on a tank of gas. so far it has been running since about 11:00 am and it is now 1:52pm.

it comes with a dc plug that you can charge batteries with besides the normal 110 outlet. and a male end you can put on a cord. it also has a plug tool and a screw driver with a phillips on one end and flat head on the other.

for the $212 i paid summit racing for it i am very well pleased.

4 stroke and it is 2000 watts surge and 1500 watts regular. it ran for just over 11 hours on 1.5 gallons of gas with a 400 watt light plugged into it. i don't want a huge gas drinking generator. i just want one big enough to run a tv, a few lights and maybe the frig. we run our entire cabin off a 1200 watt coleman generator so this one so be just right for what i was looking for.

yep. alot of people use them to keep thier batteries charged at the drag strip. i used to see generators there all the time. some people don't have a altenator on thier drag cars, so after a pass they just charge them back up and go the next round.

i miss playing with drag cars, but i don't miss the high price tag on the engines and parts we used to brake all the time. maybe in the future i might biuld another one and play.

Most of the $200 generators I've seen are 2 stroke, which can be a hassle with having to mix the gas. To find a 4 stroke for that price, I just may have to look them up. Thanks!

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, because I live in California, the "air gods" have deemed this illegal to sell in California because it is not CARB compliant. In other words, it puts out too much bad exhaust to operate in California. Sometimes this state just embarasses me beyond belief!
