It might look different because they filled the valley in with garbage in the old landfill. The new landfill is past Apex off of I-15

I heard that Vegas is more family friendly than it was 25 years ago when I last went there. I am a lot older than I was then and my wife and I want to get away and do something different. We don't gamble, but I heard there were a lot more things than gambling. We still want to go to the night life shows and such. What sight seeing things are there. Can I bring one of my Jeeps and go off roading nearby.

Vegas has backed off trying to sell themselves as a family thing. Yes, there are things for under aged people to occupy their time but it boils down to being a adult town.
You could ride the new world's largest Ferris wheel, go to the Fremont Street experience and listed to bands and ride the zipline over the street and under the electrified canopy, a Lake Mead dinner cruise, Visit the new Hoover Dam bypass bridge. The Ethel M chocolate factory and cactus garden is a hit and it's free. Midweek hotel rates are reasonable and that's when you'd want to go anyway. There are plenty of offroad trails outside of town. One starts in the Red Rock National conservation Area and climbs over the Spring Mountain Range and back over the same range at Wheeler Pass just before the town of Pahrump. Bitter Springs Scenic Byway is off of I15, northeast of Vegas and wanders into Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Check with BLM for details. Southern Utah has a pile of National Parks. It's a half days ride from Vegas.

The Cosmopolitan is great. It's one of the most expensive casino buildings in the world. https://casinority.com/most-expensiv...uildings-ever/ - it was mentioned here.
