Hey friends,
Was wondering if any of you knew about or participated in
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
My sister just started doing it in Silverlake and loves it.
Basically, CSA is where, " a farmer offers a certain number of "shares" to the public. Typically the share consists of a box of vegetables, but other farm products may be included. Interested consumers purchase a share (aka a "membership" or a "subscription") and in return receive a box (bag, basket) of seasonal produce each week throughout the farming season."
Seems like much more than just a farmer's market since you invest in a local farmer. Interesting concept and wanted to hear if any of you could offer any input.
Cheers.
