I am in a kind of arguement about cross LA traffic with my stubborn son. Back in the late 80's it was a ridiculas drive cross LA. Here's my question:
What is the aprox. time it would take from Alhambra to Mission Viejo during rush hour?
You would have bumper to bumper E/B along the 10, then would clear up a little on the S/B 605, would get thick as you enter Whittier, then a crawl to the 405 S/B then it should be smooth sailing (yeah right!). My guess would be 1 1/2 - 2 hours for the trip.
Thanks, he's applied for a position in Alhambra but wants to live in San Clemente or Mission Viejo. I got the shock of my LIFE!!! He said "yeah you're right, Dad" He's looking north of LA now, La Canada, La Crescenta, etc.
The trick is to try driving the opposite direction for the commute. When I worked the graveyard shift, I would drive home opposite the traffic (which is always inbound towards LA in the AM, outbound away from LA in the PM) and laugh all the way home. Took me 10 minutes to travel 10 miles.
