they have a great tap line up; 27 taps and serve southern style food... and they have live blues!
Naja's - Naja?s Place
unbelievable tap line up; 88 taps. the best around. don't come for the food, it's deep fried everything.

Lucky Baldwin's (Pasadena and Sierra Madre): check the attached beer menu
Library Alehouse (Santa Monica): great atmosphere
Father's Office (Santa Monica and Culver City): always packed, expensive, but HUGE selection of beer and a great burger.
Ladyface Alehouse (Agoura): On site brewery that makes a great IIPA.
My house: homebrew always on tap.

Good picks... I can't believe you actually tried to eat something at Naja's Place... If I don't watch it come from the tap or isn't in a bottle when I get it I wouldn't put it anywhere near my mouth at that place.

McG's in Chatsworth, and The Daily Pint in Santa Monica.

The Daily Pint has about THREE HUNDRED varieties of Scotch, not including other Whiskies or spirits. It's a tiny place, there is limited parking, and they don't serve food (But they have the number of a local pizza place on the wall along with the bar's address!).

McG's doesn't have quite as much Scotch, but they have decent food and live entertainment at times.

I like:

Tony's Darts Away in Burbank
8 1/2 Taverna in Toluca Lake
Blue Palms in Hollywood
Ladyface ale house in Agoura
Barney Beanery in Burbank - sort of chain restaurant (which I don't like) but great beer selection and cheap happy hour prices (which I do like)

+1 for Lucky Baldwins and Father's Office.

Let's not forget 38 Degrees and Stuffed Sandwich - if you're further east.

Rock n' Brew in El Segundo also had a good selection of brews and some decent pizza. Great for large parties

Hudson House in Redondo Beach also has good brews. It's more of a gastropub. Try the pretzel burger.

I also second the vote for Naja's. The beer selection is excellent but the food leaves much to be desired.

Father's Office (Culver City, not so hot on the santa monica spot although it's an LA classic)
Library Alehouse
Verdugo
Lucky Baldwin's Delirium Cafe (Sierra Madre)
Stuffed Sandwich (not really a pub, but pretty amazing bottle selection and the spicy sausage sandwich is awesome)
Naja's Place

Surly Goat in West Hollywood
Blue Palms in Hollywood
LadyFace in Agoura
Tony's Darts Away in Burbank
Verdugo in Glassel Park

I'm sensing a pattern here...
