Best Lobster dinner in Maine?

We are planning a motorcycle trip to Maine next year. My brothers and I are going to ride to Maine, have a great lobster dinner and ride home. All the while taking in the sites of course. Where do we go for the lobster dinner?

I've honestly never eaten it in a restaurant

I know we always get good lobster in the Damariscotta area, but you probably can't really go wrong

You can get a good lobster dinner anywhere. But Rockland is the place to visit.

I agree. Rockland/Camden/Rockport are all good coastal towns to visit, if you are willing to go for a long ride, and all have great lobster restaurants.

The Maine lobster festival is in Rockport, as I recall. I think in late august.

Pretty much everywhere is the same as the next; there are only so many ways to steam a lobster. So go for the full tourist experience and find a place right on the water.

After you dismantle a lobster once you will want to switch to lobster rolls afterward. It's good, but a horrible mess.

My GF is from Texas and this was the first real lobster event.

I think you might be referring to The Maine Lobster Festival which is in Rockland, August 3-7 this year. I'm on the board of directors so if that is something people want to know more about I can provide alot more information. Thanks. Maine Lobster Festival | 63rd Annual Maine Lobster Festival - August 4 - August 8, 2010 in Rockland, Maine
