Best Places to Pick Apples in Maine?

Anyone out there have suggestions for the best Pick Your Own orchards in Maine?

I'd like to get my hands on some good Macouns or Northern Spys before they're all gone for the season. Thanks!

John

I appreciate the recommendation, but you don't say anything about the place and why one should visit them over the dozens of others here in Maine.

What's unique and worthwhile about this place?

Well, for starters it's family owned. The apples I got there were extremely fresh and they had much more to offer than simply apples. They also sell blueberries, raspberries, different vegetables (depending on the season) and have a variety of animals wondering around (great entertainment for children). I hope these specifics help out a little bit more than my vague blerp lol.

I used to go to Hope Orchards in Hope every year when I was a kid. It's a nice orchard with a gift shop that has a bunch of related items, like maple syrup, for sale.

List of many orchards in Maine.

Maine Apple Orchard List has a list of orchards. I can't speak for any except for The Apple Farm in Fairfield. Here is the link. The Apple Farm

Used to go apple picking when I was a kid, but I don't remember any names. One of the few things I miss about Maine are the fresh MacIntosh Apples. Love that crisp taste.
