Need a good lobster bake/beach sitting weekend

Hey guys/gals- can anyone suggest a good place in Maine (not too North) where I can bring my girlfriend of three years to celebrate our anniversary? Looking to join a lobster bake-better yet take a boat ride somewhere then have a lobster bake. Also, we love walking on the beach and wine bars/ irish pubs. Will be staying for two nights in either June/July. Kayak rental would be a huge plus, we'd love to spend some time exploring a bay or the inner coast, and we'll be staying in a hotel (Marriot preferred, have tons of points.)

My first thought is Portland (love downtown) and do one of the boat tours, but figure I'd ask the locals.
