i've tried northern out doors, i thought they were great, what are some other places to raft in maine?

Which River did you run with Northern Outdoors? Many of the rafting companies in Maine are actually owned by Northern, so the company isn't necessarily the deciding factor. If you only rafted the Kennebec, you have to check out the Penobscot (and if you do, you may as well go with Northern Outdoors and stay at the Penobscot Outdoor Center).

I've been with Crab Apple and Three Rivers. Crab Apple has plenty of camp sites and a nice lodge for dinner and entertainment. I would consider Northern Outdoors one of the "high end" companies. Definitely go with a company that does the Dead River or Penobscot. Once you've tried those rivers, you'll never go back to the Kennebec!
