I am pretty sure they lifted the alchohol restriction. Green ridge is a great place imo.

I would definitely recommend Assateague Island. Camping on the state side is nice just because they have bath houses with electricity and hot showers...But the federal side doesnt have an alcohol restriction and there are some great hike-in camp sites.

Plus you can drive on the beach!

I like Savage River state forest. We hunt there most every year. We just pull off Westernport Road and walk in a ways and set up camp. We have been doing this for about 25 years. Last year we found out it is not exactly legal but the ranger said he wouldn't cause us a problem unless he gets a complaint. We can not be seen from the road. Every year the hunting pressure gets less and less. There is another area called Big Run State Park which is nice and usually empty.

I really liked Green Ridge! We camped there last year and it was a good experience, except for the fact it rained the whole time and was freezing! Not the best first camping with a tent experience, but its a really nice area!
