What restaurants do you all go to in Worcester? Some of my favorites are The Armsby Abbey, Capital Grill, 111 Chop House, Baba sushi. I'm looking for some more hole in the wall places nobody knows about but has something that everybody should go and try once. I guess I'm looking for some small places that have something special like you would see on Phantom Gourmet. Any ideas??
I think the best that I have been to is Armsby Abbey. Their farmhouse brunch is amazing and easily comparable to some excellent gastropubs I've visited in LA and Portland, OR.
For vegetarian food, Belmont Vegetarian near UMass Memorial is oustanding.
Da Lat on Park Ave has great Boba Shakes and vegetarian curry.
Corner Grille as unique and delicious flatbread pizza.
Some others may come to mind, but I'm never at a loss for where to find a good meal or where to get drunk on world-class beer. One of Worcester's few redeeming qualities...
I didn't read all of your post! I guess the best hole-in-the-wall places to eat are Belmont Vegetarian, Da Lat, Boulevard Diner, and Tacos Parillas Mexicana. Nothing amazing, but all quite good.
Also, if you're into the breakfast/brunch thing, WooDaddy Waffles is an interesting little venture that a couple of Clark grads are trying to get going. (They're there Wednesday night, Friday night, and Sunday morning). Definitely fits your hole in the wall criteria, with a cool community spirit:
I work for MedStar in Worc. and there is this brazilian grill hole in the wall place I think it's called Las Pampas on Shrewsbury St. great place. Highly suggest the lamb if you like lamb but plenty of other good stuff there.
