No one from Memphis?

I was born and raised in Memphis. Lived in Dallas for a few years in the early 80's, but, other than that..... here I am.

I live in East Memphis. Do hate that Memphis is getting the crime reputation that it has. Its a great city though and I just wish the thugs would move away. Its unfortunate that people that live elsewhere think the whole city is bad news.... There are really some great areas around town. It's my hometown.

I hate how the small outlying cities have sapped the life out of memphis. Money flows out, complaints in. Memphis would be better if more people were active in the communities and didn't just move away. Take a look at "A New Face for an Old Broad." Awesome idea.

I live in Germantown now and it is wonderful, but Memphis sucks. Crime is rampant and politics are beyond corrupt. Not only that racial tension is always high, the suburbs like Germantown and Collierville are great but I would never live in the city again. My house in the city was robbed 3 separate times in an 8 year period, and that was 14 years ago before crime was really bad

x'2 about not being too keen on Memphis but I love being out in Fayette County. Great place to live.
