Kzoo is a nice city. But let's face it, no city can be perfect...

Too bad AT&T feels that you don't deserve a 3G tower throughout the entire city. I'm a diehard Mac user, so I live on my iPhone (actually, I'm a Mac tech specialist, so I'm PAID to use this killer equipment!), but I would've tossed it into the street years ago if I had to deal with your terrible data speeds on a daily basis. I was at a client's office a couple of days ago (oh, and thanks, City of Kzoo, for the meters which keep saying EXPIRED even when I pump change in, then dropping a parking ticket on my 'shield an hour later), had five bars of power on the phone, and couldn't pull up a web page to save my life! Crazy...

But any city with a brewery as good as Bells can't be all bad.

I've found in michigan, been almost everywhere, that at&t is terrible. I'd rate coverage statewide; Verizon (after they bought alltel), sprint, at&t (have they finally fully integrated dobson and centennial? Maybe after that they can beat sprint), t-mobile.

And im a cell phone junkie. I'm not just looking at the bars lol.

Kalamazoo

I too live not far from the Zoo. I actually enjoy being out a ways but I do enjoy that fact that when I need something I can pretty much get it in Kzoo, or SB, or Mishiwaka, or Shipsie. There are tons of great restuarants, a world class University, and easy access to pretty much anything you need. The farmers market in the summer is one of the best I have been to. If you live in this area and don't find something you like to do then you just have not looked hard enough.

I was born and raised in Kalamazoo and I miss it. I currently have a house in Lansing but I have every intention of moving back there someday for all the above mentioned and others. Most my family is still in the area. The schools are much better then whats available here in Lansing. I visit frequently but Kzoo is definitely a place that grows on you like a fungus and before you know it you're hooked.

Now there's the Kalamazoo Beer Exchange to celebrate.

Kalamazoo Beer Exchange: A place where a market crash is cause for celebration | MLive.com

This gives me one more reason to make the trip.

I haven't been to Kzoo since 2005'ish, but I wasn't that impressed while going to college. The bars and happy hour is great, but other than that? Not sure. It should be a major hub since it sits happily between Chicago and Detroit, but alas, it's not that great in my opinion.

I went to WMU for a year and then GVSU, both were great schools. Kzoo is a great town though.

No doubt, I'm actually a student at KVCC.

It's a city, but without the usually city cost of living, hustle-bustle, and cookie cutter highrises.

I do enjoy spending time in downtown.

I am also from Kalamazoo- raised just north of GR, went to school at WMU, and got a job locally after graduation.

LOVE what Kalamazoo has to offer. Especially during the summer, when the craziness from WMU dies down (students going home for the summer), and all of the great summer festivals downtown ramp up- Taste of Kalamazoo, RibFest, Greek Fest, Woofstock, Island Festival, ArtHop.... the list goes on and on! There's always something to do during the summer months.

born and still being raised here in the NW outskirts of town (i live down the road from d&r and on target on west main/m43). i love it because i live close enough that i could walk to d&r if i felt so compelled (although i have to wait until July to buy bullets by myself) but far enough that no one can say anything about plinking in my back yard (well, other than my mom). there is supposed to be a range with in 4 miles (that's road distance) that i will check out this summer.
