While I can't legally drink and haven't been to this place, many friends of mine enjoy the Keweenaw Brewing Company. It is in Houghton in the UP.

They also have a ton of wines and meads, a brew store next door, and sometimes even live entertainment.
Finally got a chance to check this out a few weeks back. GREAT brewery!

I love Bells, Arcadia, Dark Horse as the standards...
When I'm looking for something different, Walldorf in Hastings has a cool atmosphere, and Saugatuck Brewing Company is nice too.

There are two new breweries that I've been hitting up lately... Michigan Beer Cellar (in Sparta, small town north of Grand Rapids) and Paw Paw Brewing Company (Paw Paw is another small town west of Kalamazoo on I-94). Both have a lot of promise for the future.

[QUOTE=neovox;41186]There are quite a few good breweries in Michigan that are worth checking out whether you're a local or a visitor. Check out the Beer Mapping Project for a pretty extensive list.

Below are just a couple that I've really enjoyed.

Traverse City Area:
Shorts - Bellaire, MI
Right Brain - Traverse City, MI
Jolly Pumpkin - Traverse City, MI

Shorts and Right Brain 4-sure!!!

I visited the Mt. Pleasant Brewing Company last weekend. They've got some good beers if anyone is in the area. If you go, pick up the sampler. They are quite generous compared to other places I've been to - you get about a 1/2 beer of each style. I think they have 10 different beers. The Gambler's Golden was my personal favorite.

Right Brain in Traverse City is another I'm fond of.
