i agree, houghton and calumet are beautiful. my dads family is from calumet and cliffton. there are many interesting places to explore. I grew up in grand rapids and went to school in houghton.

We go to Land 'O Lakes, WI - have snowmobiled to Copper Harbor at the tip of Keewenaw Peninsula - beautiful ride, very cool double decker bridge in Houghton

I have a place 5 miles out of Caseville. I know it's not up-north to a lot of people but it's where I go to get away.

I love Pictured rocks and Sleeping Bear Dunes. My buddies and I also mountain bike a lot on the North Country trail.

I stop by Faull inn restaraunt in Rose city,then to Mio. I usually camp at Mio pond in the summer and get a cabin at Mio pines in the winter. I also love Caseville.

Well, "up north" is definitely different when you have to stop at Lake Superior. I was visiting some friends in Grand Rapids back in September and they mentioned that they hunt "up north". I asked where. Apparently, they felt that the Cadillac area was as far north as Michigan went!
