Moving to Minnesota

Perhaps moving to Minnesota from Iowa within the next year or so what are some nice areas? I was thinking Walker or Longville.

Thanks

I used to live in the Decorah area in North-Eastern Iowa and moved to the Alexandria area in MN. LOVE it!

With all these foreclosures, Anoka Co. is full of hobby farms cheap. Most are 5 to 10 acres with 4 bedrooms and out buildings for around 200K. The neighborhood where I live is full of hunters so there is gun fire all the time. It usually means a varmint just bit the dust. 30 minutes to downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul.

Walker and Longville are absolutely BEAUTIFUL areas! They are big tourist towns with all the resorts on Leech and the music festivals but they are still great places to live!

I would say try to get north of St. Cloud if you can. I am originally from northern Minnesota and now live near Rochester. I spend way too much time and money driving up north to do the things that I like to do (i.e. hunting, fishing, atv's etc). I love the Duluth area and with the current economy housing is rather inexpensive there.

I am from central MN and now live near Rochester. I love getting back to Mille Lacs or up to the north shore, or Ely, or..... lotsa places I guess, but there is a lot to do down here, too. Hunting, fishing (trout streams), camping, canoeing....

I guess I would not hesitate to move to any rural area in the state!

MN in general is nice especially in the summer. I'd love to be near a nice fishing lake.

If I could live anywhere in MN it would be Grand Marais.
