Winter Sports and activities in Montana

Just trying to get a feel for what everyone likes to do for winter sports.

I've always been a snowboard guy, but lift tickets are just too much right now. I've been thinking about Jeeping outside of Eureka up as high as I can, then hike up further and ride back down to the my Jeep.

What are you guys doing this winter?

I'm not a skier or snowboarder. I don't really do a lot of outdoor stuff in the winter. I want to get back into snowmobiling but a lot of my hobbies like that have been put on hold until my kids are old enough to go along. I have two boys, a 3 year old and an 8 month old.
We have all the fun toys, ATVs, dirt bikes, etc. etc. but until they are old enough to ride their own machine (have my 3 year old on a dirt bike already) I'm focusing most of my free time restoring an old truck and hanging out with the family.

Watching football and drinking beer.... I consider it a sport.

I went cross country skiing a few weeks ago for the first time. First time I've actually been on a set of skis. It's a lot harder than I had imagined.

The Izaak Walton is the best place around to go snowshoing and x-country skiing. I just got back from a weekend there. The trails are perfect
