This guy does it well, at the time it was written, he wouldn't have been playing a steel stringed dreadnaught, but rather either a goat gut stringed parlor guitar or a banjo, the most popular instrument of the era.
I just transposed this to "G" (originally in "F") and play it on my steel stringed om

(I was going to see her in Vegas but she couldn't get a visa and the show was canceled, people like her can't get in the states anymore, terrorists just flock on in)
