Early Voting Loss of Secrecy

I personally don't care but there is a potential loss of secrecy with early voting, at least in NC. Each ballots is marked with a number that can identify the ballot. However, every effort is made to protect the secrecy of the ballot because for instance if the board is looking at it, they are only seeing the number not a name but it could be traced by looking the number up in the log book.
