Food stamp control

We keep hearing about the uptick in food stamp recepients, and there's a whole lot of finger pointing on the government, for their role in this epidemic, and I agree that the government should be doing more, to get people off food stamps. But first, the real problem in this epidemic is not the government, but rather corporate America paying subsistant wages, knowing that the American government will subsidise these workers. The government needs to crank up the federal minimum wage, and make it the law of the land, that proprietors such as walmart, taco bell mc donalds etc have to justify raising prices just as utility companies have to do, when they attempt to raise rates. This would keep uneeded inflation under control, workers would get a genuinely fair wage that they could actually live on, and could help support unions in this country again, and it would restrict the companies gross profits. Companies that wanted to call it quits because they were poor sports who didn't want government telling them what to do, could be assumed by the government. This would help to insure a stable economy, fair wages and benifits, and provide greater employment security. It's time to finally care for the lowly workers I tell you Corporate America has done fine.

So what you are proposing is a highly centralized government controlled economy. Wonderful. You know, North Korea has a government run economy. I hear there is some beautiful countryside, you should check it out.

Right sure because 1297 days without a budget is doing so well.

Raise prices on products then raise prices of pay then raise Taxes cause a burger flipping idiot was too dumb to get a decent education which makes us all poor again so then raise prices on everything raise wages then because we need so many people working for the man to keep track of all of this fair and balanced stuff they raise taxes again.

What really needs to happen is training. Not everyone needs to make $100k a year. So if you are on foodstamps or welfare you need to be trained in some kind of a skill that is useful to the population as a whole Drug dealer and drug mule are not two of those jobs. Monthly drug tests, training and limited time to be on the system. Also if you go on welfare with 2 kids and you have 4 more sorry HO we are not paying for them. We will however pay to tear out your reproductive system.

There are plenty of jobs out there.

This.

Oh, and people try to talk about a "living wage" and how fast food places arent paying a "living wage".. No kidding. Not supposed to. Those are basically the type of jobs that SHOULD be held by high schoolers and the like just learning what it means to work. Not supposed to support a family on it. People try and then complain about it because they dropped out of school and started poppin' out young'uns before getting married!

No, not highly centralized, just a benevolent dictatorship of sorts. I'm talking about pricing controls and pay regulations that level the playing field and ensure that the worker makes more, the CEO makes less, and the products or services offered are properly maintained in terms of pricing. There' plenty of money to go around, believe me, and the best part is that unlike North Korea, we could still have a democracy, because I know you repubs are pretty much black and white thinkers. There's no need for Capitalism or communism, but a hybrid of both.

What you describe is like saying we're going to take the water out of the tank but we can still have the fish.... Capitalism and those things you mentioned are pretty much opposites.

Exfriggenaxtly.

Just like all the people I seen in the military trying to raise a family of 4 on the wages of a PFC. They didn't want to believe me that PFC wages were set for someone living in the barracks and eating chowhall food 3 times a day 6 days a week.

Many years ago there was an article in "The West Virginia Hillbilly" that was quite profound. The title was "The World Will Always Need Its Slaves" and the author proclaimed that high school drop-outs filled that need. But he went on to say that there is one thing worse than a drop-out, and that is a stayed-in that should have dropped out. We now seem to have raised the bar to the college level, but they want the feed without the work and have left the menial work to the undocumented.

Pay people what they need to survive and have some fun, then you'll have more people interested in work. I wouldn't even get up in the morning if it meant getting min wage. I'd stay home and collect welfare straight up. Others do it, why not? Why would anyone want to work their ass off, only to not get by, let alone ahead. Fact.... Pay people more money and they'll work harder, and it's more christlike too!

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I'm done with responding to your posts. I know where you stand and you are so far from reality that I will no loger waste my time with you.
