I assume you mean president. HUGE open ended question. Any more specificity?

I don't know that I can provide specifics. I lost track of all the programs that have been implemented and what the Legislative branch approved/did not approve.

I assume many of those 'changes' will change.

Tired of hearing--'I will set things straight, etc'

How --specifically, how?

Magic wand?

Are you referring to the "Big Changes" which was his entire election theme?

I'm sure we "will" get a new one, obama isn't going to end our political system presidential term limits no matter what faux news may be saying

I assume you mean next election, If the tea party somehow did get a crazy like perry or bachman in there then it would be time to abandon america as it will be on it's way to becoming the next Iran due to all the religious influence plus it will be highly geared for change promoting the rich at the expense of the working class, in short the economy will be headed to a long term disaster for a short term boost and the republicans will forget all about the debt limit for adding new spending but will occasionally cut a program or two's funding that helps the low and middle class to act like they care, all while pretending to be the jesus party when in reality jesus (according to his teachings) would have nothing to do with them.

Yeah, I'm still waiting on those too, faux news keeps referring to his grand experiment and socialist dealings but he really hasn't done anything other then ObamaCare which was a republican idea to begin with. the goal posts have been moved to new extremes, obama has been playing center of the isle democrat policies while the republicans aren't even on the field they are so off to one side now.....

obama's biggest "Grand experiement" was trying to be partisan and playing nice, instead of starting with republican health care idea and adding a public option he should have demanded a single payer health care for all system and stood his ground, then eventually compromise with the republicans on "their" idea of a health insurance exchange that we call "obamacare"

on a side note what if ObamaCare sticks and ends up being forever popular? will the right continue to use the "obamacare" name? will they re-adopt it as initially a republican plan?

It won't. It's already been ruled unconstitutional in lower courts to force Americans to buy health insurance or pay fines and/or go to prison.

Now it's on its way to the supreme court. However, obama's administration is pushing to have that battle after the elections. I'm guessing that's because it'd be a huge political hit if it was deemed unconstitutional by the supreme court as well.

As far as our next president, I just think America is looking for anyone BUT Obama at this point. I'm not super excited about the tea party's people either. Let's just hope we get someone with a level head.

I think that's what we all want.

I want a 'rational thinker'--less and less sure of what others want.

We are in the middle of 'this'--cataclysmic situation. If a new president is elected in 2012 -what could be done? That is my real concern.

at least be fair, it's been ruled constitutional as many times as unconstitutional so don't act like it's a clear thing, you know be fair and balanced. eh, Obama ratings aren't great but saying that they want anyone but obama is not valid at all, In polls of republicans a hypothetical republican candidate would get more votes then any that are actually running, plus the whole debt ceiling debacle that showed just how damaging the tea party can be and what their true agenda is (tax breaks for the rich before balanced budget/medicare/social security) has hurt them.

Oh I agree. It has been ruled constitutional. I just pointed out the unconstitutional ruling to explain why it was being brought to the supreme court.

I honestly don't feel like discussing Obama, but I think that the numbers speak for themselves - all time low approval rating, as much debt racked up in 2.5 years than bush did in 8 years of war, his only real accomplishment is on the chopping block - I just don't see the American people embracing that again.

But, like I said, I'm not too crazy about any if the GOP hopefuls, either. I just want someone less extreme either way.

Will Clarence and Virginia Thomas succeed in killing Obama?s health-care plan?

The Thomases vs. Obama?s Health-Care Plan : The New Yorker

Quote:
It has been, in certain respects, a difficult year for Clarence Thomas. In January, he was compelled to amend several years of the financial-disclosure forms that Supreme Court Justices must file each year. The document requires the Justices to disclose the source of all income earned by their spouses, and Thomas had failed to note that his wife, Virginia, who is known as Ginni, worked as a representative for a Michigan college and at the Heritage Foundation. The following month, seventy-four members of Congress called on Thomas to recuse himself from any legal challenges to President Obama?s health-care reform, because his wife has been an outspoken opponent of the law.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas' Conduct Provokes Calls for Ethics Probe
Between The Lines - Drew Courtney: Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and His Ethical Lapses Under Scrutiny (Week Ending Aug. 26, 2011)

Quote:
One of Thomas' friends, real estate entrepreneur Harlan Crow, has contributed funds to a library and museum project dedicated to Thomas in Georgia, while also showering the justice and his wife with expensive gifts, including providing start-up funds for Thomas' wife Ginni's Tea Party group Liberty Central. Earlier this year, Rep. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., proposed a bill that would end the Supreme Court?s immunity to federal ethics law, which apply to all other federal judges. Between The Lines' Scott Harris spoke with Drew Courtney, director of communications with the group People for the American Way. He talks about the growing controversy over conservative Justice Clarence Thomas' ethical standards.
