Paranoid is good but technically impossible. Those idiots are focused on kids in the backseat, a cell conversation or about to make a left across two lanes & two yellow lines. Cycles don't respond well to locked up brakes or fools behind a wheel.

Hah, with all due respect, 11 year of riding in urban areas prove you wrong. I've constantly got my head on a swivel, and do anything to stay away from cars as much as possible. I've gotten to the point where I feel safer on a bike than in a car.

Motorcycles respond 100 times better than cars to locked up brakes and such, because they're much more maneuverable. I can't tell you how many times someones locked up their brakes in front of me and I've been able to completely maneuver around them.

A bike is only as safe as the rider, and, in my case, I'd rather be on a bike than in a car any day.

Meant the bike brakes but I agree on maneuverability getting the nimble car or bike out of many tight spots. Selling my Tradesman lost me my high vantage point and ability to spot trouble early. Visibility & being able to dodge others saved me often.
