Out of curiosity..Auto insurance. Insure the driver, not the car???

(Aside from it making more money for the insurance companies...)

Some folks may think it is a silly question. Let's say I want a big truck for hauling stuff, a Jeep for fun, and maybe a little econobox for driving to and from work.... Does it really make sense for me to have to pay insurance on all three when I can only drive one at a time. I am sure there are some good answers out there somewhere...
I should only have to pay insurance once... Maybe base it on the value/evaluation of the "more expensive" vehicle.
