Clever but the national debt continues to rise and is beyond hope of any resolution. Neither party has a plan to ever achieve a balance budget, much less tackle the debt. That is why only deficit reduction is addressed rather than the ever-growing debt. The problem is that both parties buy votes with handouts while taking their own handouts along the way. We are helpless to rein in any of the spending. We can't even keep politicians from getting raises while we are struggling. We can't even stop funding for Big Bird or whatever his name is without a gripe.
Quote:
Finally in fiscal 2013 — the final budget of Obama’s term — spending is scheduled to fall 1.3% to $3.58 trillion.
