Solution to the middle east mess

+

=

Just get it over with.... Jeeze. Either that or we COMPLETELY pull out (OUR CULTURE AND ALL) and drill our own oil HERE!

They hate us.

We have given Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt, Yemen, and others SOOO much money and we think they will stop hating us. I know, many will say it is a few radicals... Okay, so where are the ones that like us? I think they are the minority.

Nuke Mecca during Ramadan. They live in a glass house and are throwing stones....if they thought for even one second we would Nuke Mecca during Ramadan. This would all go away. They know we wont....that's why we should. This religion is a 15oo year old David Koresh on steroids and that's it. We killed him and all his kids so what's holding us back?

it is far more complicated then the people on here want to admit, but when you really boil it down it pretty much comes down to religion, not any one religion, but just religion in general.

If we keep messing in their affairs where we don't belong as we have done for the last 60 years, yes they will be pissed. don't let anyone feed you the b.s. line that "they hate us for our freedoms"

you forgot Israel, we pay them tons of money and they still spy on us soppusedly more than any other country, they would hate us too if the paychecks (and military welfare for their country) stop, why did you leave them off the list?

I did not forget Israel. I was referring to the list of countries currently attacking our embassies and interests.
Oh, and as far as hating us for our freedoms or whether it has to do with religion.
I too hate it when people say "they hate us for our freedom." Don't get me wrong, they hate that we have freedom of speech and we don't behead people for trashing muhammed... So in some sense they do hate our freedom. But I do think that it is mostly because of our presence in the middle east. They feel and see our influence on their culture. And yes, religion plays a heavy hand in that because their culture is highly based into a religion that is much more militant (Or at least presents itself as such in the public arena.) That is why my first post didn't present some sort of "can't we all just get along..." theme.... Because I don't think we can. Look at history. Also, I think the feuding concerning the middle east is biblical.

Genesis 16:11-12 (ESV) "And the angel of the Lord said to her,

“Behold, you are pregnant
and shall bear a son.
You shall call his name Ishmael,[a]
because the Lord has listened to your affliction.
12 He shall be a wild donkey of a man,
his hand against everyone
and everyone's hand against him,
and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen.”

(Ishmael is the forefather of Mohammed.)

In his 9/11 Anniversary Address, Al-Zawahiri Calls On Arabs To "Take Advantage Of U.S. Weakness To Purge Muslim Lands Of Corrupt Rulers". So he sees the weakness and apologetic attitude of the Obama administration as something to exploit. Do you suppose ISNA in its role as adviser to Obama on middle east policy set us up for the current situation? It seems that the radical islamists end up suppressing the so-called moderates in any muslim country they choose to do so.

This reads a bit different that what is being discussed on our news talk shows;
Quote:
Al Zawahri personally ordered Al Qaeda to murder US Ambassador Stevens
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report September 12, 2012, 10:04 PM (GMT+02:00)

The US Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and three staff members at the US consulate in Benghazi were deliberately murdered Tuesday night Sept 11 just after memorial ceremonies were held in America for the victims of the 9/11 outrage. debkafile?s counter-terror sources report exclusively that far from being a spontaneous raid by angry Islamists, it was a professionally executed terrorist operation by a professional Al Qaeda assassination team, whose 20 members acted under the orders of their leader Ayman al Zawahri after special training. They were all Libyans, freed last year from prisons where they were serving sentences for terrorism passed during the late Muammar Qaddafi?s rule.

In a video tape released a few hours before the attack, Zawahri called on the faithful to take revenge on the United States for liquidating one of the organization?s top operatives, Libyan-born Abu Yahya al-Libi in June by a US drone in northwestern Pakistan.
Its release was the ?go? signal for the hit team to attack the US diplomats in Benghazi.
To mask their mission, they stormed the consulate on the back of a violent protest by hundreds of Islamists against a film said to insult Prophet Muhammed produced by a Florida real estate agent called Sam Bacile, who has been described as of Israeli origin.

The operation is rated by terror experts as the most ambitious outrage al Qaeda has pulled off in the last decade. According to our sources, the gunmen split into two groups of 10 each and struck in two stages:

1. They first fired rockets at the consulate building on the assumption that the ambassador?s bodyguards would grab him, race him out of the building and drive him to a safe place under the protection of the US secret service;
2. The second group was able to identify the getaway vehicle and the ambassador?s armed escort and lay in wait to ambush them. The gunmen then closed in and killed the ambassador and his bodyguards at point blank range.
debkafile?s intelligence sources report that the investigation launched by US counter-terror and clandestine services is focusing on finding out why no clue was picked up of the coming attack by any intelligence body and how al Qaeda?s preparations for the attack which took place inside Libya went unnoticed by any surveillance authority.
