South Carolina Lawmaker Seeks to Ban Federal Currency

South Carolina Rep. Mike Pitts has introduced legislation that would mandate that gold and silver coins replace federal currency as legal tender in his state.

As the Palmetto Scoop first reported, Pitts, a Republican, introduced legislation this month banning "the unconstitutional substitution of Federal Reserve Notes for silver and gold coin" in South Carolina.

In an interview, Pitts told Hotsheet that he believes that "if the federal government continues to spend money at the rate it's spending money, and if it continues to print money at the rate it's printing money, our economic system is going to collapse."......

it has no chance of happening and is just done to get news coverage that he's a tea party guy.... nothing more

Let's see these guys put their principles to work here and follow in the footsteps of Lee Iacocca, among others. If these guys are GENUINELY concerned about getting THEIR country back, then step up to the task at hand, and get the ball rolling rather than looking for some BS scapegoat. This applies to BOTH republicans and democrats.

I also don't think it will ever happen. Many solutions wont happen for whatever reason...
