Bill Maher is a self serving entertainer just like Ted, but Ted has been financially much more successful than Bill. As far as talent goes, I would consider Bill as second rate at best.

I really don't like Ted or Bill, just saying Ted has made much more $$$ over the years than Bill. Usually more money indicates greater success and higher achievements. Doesn't mean a person is a saint or a rotten effer' just means they have had success in what they set out to do.

Frankly, we are more alike than you know. Totally agree on the politicians, but the republicans are more arrogant, stupid, corrupt, controlling.....and did I mention stupid? I just happen to like Bill Maher because he seems more aligned with my view on things, he, like myself, actually find fault with the democrats whereas the republican Taliban country club seem to think they are invincible, and without blemish, and want to be sure that no one who is poor, handicapped or not pretty, gets no healthcare or retirement, and I get tired of them wanting to push their moral compass on me and others. Well democrats are as just as sh!tty in all the ways you describe the republicans and thats a simple fact. Most of the so called problems with the nation as well as the world, social or otherwise, are made up lies and supported by the powers that be to retain control over the masses. It does work and is propoganda of the highest degree. Politicians shovel this propoganda sh!t down our throats at the behest of their masters and keep us distracted from the real issues at hand.
Now back to Ted and Bill. Ted in making the statemnent that he would blow his brains out has got him publicity in the public eye and bad publicity is sometimes better than good publicity. Saying he's going blow his brains out is something remembered by many rather that saying something sedate and keeps his name out in the media. Hell you even started this post using his statement. Very clever and effective on his behalf in keeping the left wing and liberals thinking about him even if it's in a bad way. It also plays into his scheme of appealing to the extreme right wing liberal types. To put it into a nutshell, keeping these two sides going at each other sell his books, albums, speaking engagements, music, websites, and keeps him in the public eye. It's all about the $$$$$ here.
Bill in letting it be known that he donated 1M to Obama's election also plays very heavy in keeping him out there in the eye of the public and in the spirit of keeping it short, it makes him $$$$ in the same way it does Ted. So, it's all about the $$$$ here as well.
At least these guys are entertainers and not politicians and their slight of hand sh!t is making them somewhat of an honest living, as pathetic as it is, and money to do with as they please.
