Study history -- even recent history -- and learn from it. Then take steps to mitigate what happens to keep you and your family safe. To me, that's akin to buying an insurance policy; it's not been overly gloomy.
You are a pragmatist with a touch of optimism.

Pragmatist, yes. Optimist...I try, but I don't always succeed. There's a lot of really awful nonsense of history-making proportions going on, and insulating me and my family from the effects is an ongoing chore. I guess I'm optimistic because I keep meeting people who get it and are also taking steps to avoid whatever fallout might come their way.

China:

?For the U.S. to undertake a second round of quantitative easing at this time we feel is not recognizing the responsibility it should take as a reserve currency issuer, and not taking into account the effect of this excessive liquidity on emerging-market economies,? Vice Finance Minister Zhu Guangyao told reporters at a press conference in Beijing.
