New Drag Strip in Winnemucca!

Northern Nevada Racing Association just had their first race last weekend at our brand new 1/8th mile dragstrip! For anyone interested it is located five miles out Jungo Road (west of hwy 95) The weekend went off with out a hitch. Saturday night after the races there was a 350lb hog that had been smoking since friday, folks brought over beans and salads, didn't matter if you were a racer or spectator, good food for all with a live band to enjoy. There is plenty of room for dry camping in the pits, when I get more info for the next race I will post up. Remember it does not matter how fast your car is, you can race almost anything! I suppose this would be more interesting with pictures, but I was racing...

1/4 mile just lets the slow cars go a little faster

Street Drags are a blast, but a lot of work to make happen, the city still wants us to do them in conjunction with 50s Fever car show.

Most quarters are getting dropped to the 8th for more racers who don't want to have to dump a ton of money into a car that is 12 seconds or less. IHRA & NHRA changed the rules a few years back for quarter racers to cage up, wear a proban racing suit and NHRA helmet. Way too much to invest on a street legal strip ready car.
You can find a lot of fun at the 8th and its good for practicing cutting the tree as well
