Favorite Breweries in New Hampshire?

Well, I'm a big beer (and wine...and scotch) drinker, and everywhere I go I visit at least one brewery.

I grew up in NH, but dont get back there too often anymore. I've only been to the following:

Portsmouth
Flying Goose
Harpoon (okay, its in Windsor VT, but it's close enough).

I had originally planned to hit Redhook when I was in Portsmouth, but didnt get a chance.

Next trip will be Redhook, Smuttynose, Elm City...I think thats the plan...

Anyway, what are your favorite NH breweries (or breweries close to NH).

Since I went to UNH I'd have to say that the Portsmouth Brewery is my favorite. Probably more for the food than the beer...but they're both good!
Welcome to the Portsmouth Brewery!

Severn BArrell Brewpub used to be great for the beer - food not so great, but passable

I've only had some stuff from Smuttynose and it was all pretty good. Their brown ale is a good choice. I'm going to try to get my hands on some of the beer from White Birch brewery next time I'm in NH. I've heard good things, but they don't distribute to NY.

Other brewpub options are Martha's Exchange in Nashua and the Tap in Haverhill, MA. Both have good beer and decent pub food. The Tap has a huge porch on the river out back, so good for a summer visit. A little further north is Moat Mountain in North Conway, or Federal Jack in Kennebunkport, ME, both have excellent food and beer.

Also, while in the area try to grab a bottle or 2 of White Birch Brewing beers. Bill makes some great bottle conditioned beers.
