plenty of good lake and river activities, decent golf courses, skiing in the winter of course...and yes, as much as it pains me to have the roadways clogged with leaf-peepers in the fall, the foliage is probably the best anywhere in the country.

Definitely drive through the white mountains in Fall. You may want to try to get through in early fall, the leaves change earlier the further north you are...

clean fresh air and water which may not seem like much until you look at what is in the air and water in SoCal.

Aside from the body cleansing experience of clean air & water...

If you enjoy the outdoors NH is an excellent place to go, hiking, camping, fishing.

N.H. has it all and all within a day's drive. We have the White Mtn National Forrest for mtn climbing, drive a couple hours south and you are in the Lakes Region for swimming & boating, and then drive another 2 hours south and you are at the ocean. Whether you like the mtns, fresh water lakes or the ocean, its all here in N.H.

Winter: Decent skiing/snowboarding, sledding, snowmobiling,

Summer: Visiting the beaches, swimming in a local lake, relaxing,

life is much quieter up there.
