You need to come to see the traffic and toll booths! I love NJ, but sometimes I hate it.

I didn't realize scrapple was local to NJ/PA, too. Come get some scrapple at a NJ diner!

The FOOD!

Yeah, it's been stated, but I just have to emphasize it: the FOOD!

Whether it's fresh hot bagels, hot baked Italian bread, REAL Pizza, an Italian Sub, Chinese, Greek, Polish Deli, etc...
Make sure you visit a Diner or two!
And make sure you visit a Bakery too! The baked goods are like Nothing else!

Calandra's in Fairfield, Caldwell, and Newark - excellent bakery and bread!
Fresh From Calandra's

The Deleware Water Gap, High Point, Cranberry fields in South Jersey, the boardwalks @ the Jersey shore...

And I have to second Pork Roll! You can find pork roll at a diner or deli, usually on a breakfast sandwhich (say pork roll and fried egg on an english muffin).
I live in NH now and when we visit family, we bring home fresh bagels and pork roll! :-D

Oo oo and the scrapple! Mmm. Old school Jersey Diners rule. You can order breakfast at 11pm while your buddy orders spaghetti. And both your breakfast and his dinner some how mysteriously arrive at the same time only 10 minutes later.
