I hate litter. Give a HOOT, don't pollute. (remember that oldie?)

Does anyone remember the old TV spot where a tear rolls down the face of an American Indian (I am, respectfully, not politically correct) as he scans the area? He sees a roadside poisoned by litter.

I saw that when I was a kid, and was really struck, but I am not an enviromaniac.
With all the things people complain about and feel helpless against the political machine these days, this is one thing where each individual can truly make a difference.

What kind of self absorbed moron just throws their crap on the ground or out the car window? I almost can't believe people can be such poopyheads(cleaner choice of words than I want to use, but.....).
Cigarette butts count too, and time and time again, start fires.

C,mon folks, clean up NJ and our image, encourage tourism and the local economy!!

The cigarette butt thing bothers me. You'll see more of that than anything else. My personal favoirte is when some one dumps their car's ashtray in a parking lot or in a public place (or in my side yard... thanks j-off neighbors). You don't want it in our car, we don't want it either.

Good News, Everyone! As it turns out, the "Native American" in that old TV spot was actually portrayed by an Italian-American by the name of Tony "Iron Eyes" Cody.

Maybe NJ should adopt him posthumously as our official environmental spokesman.

it happens everywhere in the world because it simple.

it be nice if there was a trashcan everywhere but its not going to happen.

We did a pretty big clean up at Menantico last weekend. Came out pretty good and got a lot of trash out.

I remember back a few years ago when CA first passed their indoor smoking ban. A lot of places decided they didn't want those nasty butt recepticles in front of their buildings. So they got cigarette butts on their doorstep instead.
