In Eastern NM (Sedan, Nara Visa area) the problem with the prairie dogs was fairly severe till a few years ago when plague infested fleas probably from coyotes solved the problem. I shot a lot of em years ago, none there now. Maybe get some of those fleas for your airport.

I think they are adorable. Many seem to think they are target practice. Honestly, per the article, I think they should be more focused on coyotes and planes hitting them.

Pretty hard to hit a coyote with an airplane on purpose, they're usually very alert. Problem with the Prairie dogs is runway damage from burrows, not smushing the little rodents.
